Legacy Church was launched by Pastors John & Debbie Prom on October 10, 2010, after they moved to Princeton, Texas. Having served as staff pastors in Oklahoma City for nearly seventeen years, the Proms moved to Princeton not knowing anyone in the area but simply having a call in their hearts.
John grew up in Wisconsin and although he attended church some, he’d never heard that he could have a relationship with God until he was 21 years old. He’d never heard of Jesus — the One person who loved him so much that He would die for him. God changed his life dramatically when John surrendered his life to Jesus, and the rest is history. He met Debbie while attending Southwestern Assemblies of God University. She grew up in Arkansas and is from a family of ministers. John and Debbie believe strongly that God has a beautiful plan and purpose for every life, and Legacy Church is about developing people in their gifts for God’s kingdom.
The Proms are in Princeton to see God transform lives, build individuals into the leaders they’re meant to be, and ultimately leave the legacy they’re meant to leave. They believe strongly that Jesus meant what He said in John 10:10 when He said He came to give “life more abundant.” Actually, they’re committed to that life — living it, sharing it, depositing it. In fact, they call it an “unforgettable” life!
