“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:3

God spoke this to Abraham a looooooooong time ago! He even made provision in 1948 for this people to become a nation. What’s fascinating to me is that the ancient Hebrew language of the bible has been resurrected by that nation — and Hebrew is spoken in the streets of Jerusalem today! We as God’s people should be wise enough to bless Israel because we trust His Word. We stand with Israel as God’s people, and as Legacy Church.

At Legacy for a few weeks, we’re singing a little Hebrew (and their national anthem) in celebration of the nation of Israel. Even while their enemies are attempting to annihilate them, take away their statehood, and have threatened their existence for over 2000 years, they still stand. Nowhere else in the world can we find such a tiny place the size of New Jersey that is more fought over, disputed, or threatened. Nowhere else on the planet is more in the news than this beautiful, sacred land.

The nations that have arisen in through the years against Israel are either no longer in existence or they are without power in the world. Search it out. Google it. It’s fascinating to study. God’s truth remains: if we bless Abraham’s people, God will bless us. Look how Paul says it:

“If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.” Ro 11:17,18

“I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this way all Israel will be saved.” Ro 11:25

Although their hearts are hardened, more and more of the Jewish people are coming to believe in Jesus as their Messiah. As people of God we bless Israel by praying for her, standing with her, supporting her financially (especially Christian missionaries sent there to bless) and defending her. We are forever linked with her.

Do we want His blessings? Let’s bless her.
