“You therefore must be perfect (growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity), as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:48

Did you know that you’re perfect in Christ? We often see our faults, not His greatness. We often see our mistakes, not His beauty. But we need to look at Him in us to understand that our spirits have been made new, that part of us is perfect. It belongs to HIm. It’s that part of us that is like God.

We excuse ourselves often by saying “Nobody’s perfect.” Which is true. None of us show excellent behavior all the time, and we use this small phrase to escape the expectations of ourselves and others for ourselves. Sometimes we’re our own worst critics. Stop! It’s time to start seeing yourself as God sees you: His. He sees you perfect. He sees what you’re becoming, and through the eyes of HIs love and mercy. He loves you just like you are: He doesn’t demand change before you come to Him.

What you are is His. Your identity comes from Your Father, so accept that. Stop believing wrong, and you’ll stop acting wrong. Start believing right (according to God’s Word) and you’ll start behaving right. Right behavior won’t have to be striven for; it’ll flow naturally out of this love amazing relationship with Jesus — where you believe what He says about you..

You’re perfect!
