Lie to Me Week 3

“Lie to Me”

A lie believed as truth will affect you as if it were true.

But Moses pleaded with the LORD, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue tied, and my words get tangled.” -Exodus 4:10 NLT

The Lie: Your worth is based on what people say about you.

Your past experiences.

Then the LORD asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.” But Moses again pleaded, “Lord, please! Send anyone else.” Exodus 4:11-13 NLT

God says you are;

1) Called by Christ

…you are a chosen people…his very own possession. This is so you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 NLT

2) Capable through Christ

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:37

We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. Corinthians 3:4-5

3) Complete in Christ

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life …2 Peter 1:3

For in Christ the fullness of God lives in a human body, and you are complete through your union with Christ… Colossians 2:9-10 NLT
