“Fear not, for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties.” Isaiah 41:10

Don’t fear! Don’t be afraid! He’s got you. Stop looking around at the craziness in our world, taking your eyes off Jesus. That’s what Peter did after he’d stepped out of the boat: looked around. But he was already walking on water! He was stepping on nothing and finding Jesus there! He was stepping out on water and finding a place for his feet! No man in history had ever expressed such faith so great as to walk on water — but Peter (along with Jesus!) But in a moment, he looked around.

Our world is nuts and only getting nuttier. You know it; I know it. The bible tells us that there is coming a day when everything that can be shaken will be shaken. (Hebrews 12:27) So make up your mind now. Don’t wait. You need faith now. You need a foundation now.

The more you grow in your faith and in quenching fear in your life, the stronger you become in Him. He will strengthen you against difficulties. You’ll notice them when they come, but they can’t shake you. You’ll realize who they’re from and be able to walk through those trials with faith and confidence in Him… trusting Him to make things right for you.

Rest assured: the time of terror and dismay is coming. But you don’t have to fear. Make Him your foundation… your Rock, your fortress. Keep your eyes on Him, and don’t fear.
