Lead Like Jesus: Week 8

Pgs. 51-57

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Even leaders have fears and insecurities. Whether it be an intimidating person or a difficult situation, we all have moments where fear stops us from doing what God has asked of us. When these moments hit remember what Paul says in 2 Timothy 1:7. On our own we are not strong enough to deal with these situations, but with God all things are possible. It is only when we forget to lean on him and rely only on our own strength that we will be defeated by our fears. Don’t let your own fears get in the way of God’s plans for you.

Whatever comes your way remember this verse: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). Even when you feel alone, He is with you. Even when your world is falling apart around you, He is with you. Never forget that your strength comes from Him. So when you feel weak call out to Him, and He will answer. Trust that God has put you where you are for a reason. He has a purpose and a plan for you, but you have to willing to follow His lead.

Moses was afraid when God sent him to free the Jews. Moses argued that no one would believe him, that he was not skilled at speaking to people. So God sent Aaron to help Moses speak to the people. Remember that God does not want you to fail, He wants you to succeed and He will send help when you feel you are not strong enough. (Exodus 4 1-17)

When fear stops you on your path, don’t panic, trust God. Trust that He is big enough to solve any problem.

Prayer: “Jesus, don’t let fear stop me from accomplishing the plans you have for me. Give me strength to push through the fear and insecurities that life puts in my way. Thank you for the strength you provide. Amen.”
