Lead Like Jesus: Week 7

Pgs. 44-50

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24

As we read God’s word, we learn more about His way and His love. By reading Lead Like Jesus we grow as leaders as well as in our relationship with God. But what good is all the knowledge we learn if we are unwilling to practice what we learn?

God doesn’t want us to keep what we learn to ourselves. God wants us to share what we learn with those around us. Not just by talking, but by living the life Jesus wants us to live. Pour what you learn into the people around you by being a servant of God. Love those around you. Be the bright light in someone’s dark day. Its easy to get wrapped up in our own needs and desires, but don’t forget that we are a living example of God’s love.

In Matthew 5:14 Jesus compares His followers to “a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” Don’t hide the love God has given you; show it brightly for all to see. By doing good deeds and by being a servant of God, those who do not know Jesus will get a glimpse of His love. They may not know it, but by brightening their day you are planting a seed of God’s love.

Prayer: “Jesus, let me practice what I learn from Your word and Your love. Let me be a leader and a bright light to those around me. Help me to share Your love with those around me, Amen.”
